Handcrafted Ebonite Navigator Fountain Pen or Rollerball Pen Chrome

This pen is made from dark green ebonite and is sold either in fountain pen or rollerball pen.

What is ebonite? Ebonite was a brand name for very hard rubber (think bowling balls) created by Charles Goodyear by vulcanizing rubber for prolonged periods. It is about 30% to 40% sulfur which gives it a very distinctive smell when turning. The name comes from its intended use as an artificial substitute for ebony wood. This pen has a dark green and black ripple/swirl.

The cap may be screwed on to the back of the pen for storage when writing. The pen’s length wen closed is 5.25: closed and 6.25” when the cap is posted on the back of the pen.

The pen uses a Schmidt type of rollerball cartridge that ensures a smooth writing experience and refills for these universal cartridges can be found at any office supply store.
